Groundbreaking undercover journalist Jame O’Keefe recently captured striking evidence of the partisan nature of the theoretically nonpartisan Federal Reserve.

Using a hidden camera, he recorded a central bank official admitting to the political leanings of the Fed. This despite its sweeping power to set interest rates and steer the U.S. economy at critical times — such as an election year.

The subject who revealed secrets of the Fed was Aurel Hizmo.

Hizmo is listed on the Federal Reserve website as a Principal Economist with the Real Estate Finance Section. He is a former professor of finance at the New York University Stern School of Business and was previously Senior Economist for the central bank.

The economist spoke freely of the overt political actions taken by Fed Chair Jerome Powell.

Hizmo noted, “under Powell, the Fed has changed to think about equity issues, like racial issues, think about wealth inequality as part of the mandate, as part of the things we are following. Think about climate change.”

The O’Keefe Media Group scored yet another coup with its footage of the self-described liberal economist. Hizmo recalled that former President Donald Trump wanted Powell to lower interest rates to stimulate the economy, but the chair refused.

Despite 11 interest rate hikes since 2022, inflation is still rampant in Joe Biden’s economy. And clearly there will be more pressure on the Fed to slash rates ahead of the November presidential election.

Hizmo further implied that Trump and his supporters are stupid. “I don’t think there are any conservatives in the field. All the people I work with are academics. Trump supporters are not voting for him for logical reasons.”

He added that “Trump is just a crazy person.”

The economist declared that Powell wants to be recorded in history as a “savior,” which explains his determination to use the central bank to crusade for liberal causes.

At one point in the conversation, Hizmo apparently realized that he was divulging information that should remain hidden from the public. “I’m just really worried that I’m saying stuff that’s classified … it’s all classified.”
