McCarthy Gives Tucker Carlson Jan. 6 Surveillance Video
True to his promise last month to release unreleased security footage from the Jan. 6, 2021 riot, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has given Fox News host Tucker Carlson full access to surveillance footage from the riot.
“We believe we have secured the right to see whatever we want to see,” Carlson stated on Tucker Carlson Tonight on Monday.
Carlson added that most of the video, which goes on for over 40,000 hours, has never been seen by the public.
On Monday’s Tucker Carlson Tonight, the host shared that the footage is under review by producers. “So, we’ve been there about a week, our producers, some of our smartest producers, have been there, looking at this stuff and trying to figure out what it means and how it contradicts or not the story that we’ve been told for more than two years,” he stated.
Carlson has repeatedly questioned Democrats’ claims of insurrection as regards the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, as no substantial evidence has been provided to back up the allegations. The FBI was not able to find evidence that the violence was coordinated by Republican groups or supporters of President Donald Trump.
While they have held onto their “insurrection” claims all so dearly, Democrats seem to be aware that footage of the actual event would reveal their dishonesty to the public. Hence, they have tried to keep the tapes from being made public.
As expected, the news that Carlson has access to the footage led to an outcry from some Democratic lawmakers. But Carlson, speaking to Axios, has said that “there was never any legitimate reason for this footage to remain secret.”
“If there was ever a question that’s in the public’s interest to know, it’s what actually happened on January 6. By definition, this video will reveal it,” Carlson said, wondering why “any honest person would be bothered” by the potential public revelation.
Having had access to the tapes since early February, Carlson has said he will be airing some of it, come next week.
Considering the TV host and political commentator hinted that the video contradicts the story Democrats have sold for the past two years “in some ways,” the coming weeks promise a reveal of the Left’s penchant for purveying lies.
