Carlson To Glenn Beck: ‘They’re All Lying’ About Jan. 6

Video of the Jan. 6, 2021 protests released on Fox News is receiving major support from those within the conservative political movement, including Glenn Beck. Beck, a leading figure in the Tea Party movement, hosted Carlson, who said that the tapes show that major figures in Washington are “lying.”

The popular radio host backed his former Fox News colleague Tucker Carlson in a major statement this week. This follows the release of footage from that day released on Tucker Carlson Tonight on Monday and Tuesday.

Beck spoke to Carlson this week, where the Fox News host pulled no punches.

Carlson said, “The main conclusion that I drew is that Chuck Schumer, and the horrible Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell, filthy man, and Mitt Romney, and Thom Tillis and Senator Cramer of North Dakota, like, they’re all lying. They’re all lying.”

Carlson received more than 40,000 hours of footage from Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). The Fox News host believes that the footage absolves many of the protesters at the Capitol on that day.

In particular, the footage shows Jacob Chansley, sometimes called the QAnon Shaman, being escorted through the Capitol by police officers. Also on Tucker Carlson Tonight this week, Chansley’s mother Martha Chansley told the Fox News host that she believes that the video should have “come out two years ago.”

Carlson also talked about footage showing United States Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick which shows him on Jan. 6. Sicknick, who died the following day, was a major focus of the House select committee regarding the protests.

The release of footage from the Capitol protests may also be a major element of criminal defense for those present that day.

An attorney for some of the protesters stated that Carlson’s video release would be “grounds for appeal.”

The release of the footage is now a focal point in the debate surrounding the work of the House Jan. 6 committee and reactions from members of Congress.
