A woman was caught on camera throwing a burrito bowl at a Chipotle worker’s face after a mix-up with her UberEats order. The altercation, which was recorded and quickly went viral with millions of views, took place at a Chipotle restaurant in Washington, D.C., after the woman became upset that her order was missing meat and condiments.

According to Roberto Hernandez, the employee involved, the woman had ordered a chicken burrito bowl through UberEats. When it arrived missing the meat and condiments she had paid for, she demanded a refund at the store. The staff explained that the refund had to come from UberEats, not Chipotle.

In frustration, the woman went behind the counter to serve herself two replacement burrito bowls. Hernandez tried to stop her, but when he grabbed one of the bowls, the woman threw it in his face. Hernandez later explained that he didn’t retaliate because he didn’t want to escalate the conflict.

In a television interview, the woman admitted that her actions were wrong but argued she had the right to take new food after her original order was taken. She also claimed that “men” at the store had previously assaulted her, which fueled her frustration.

Chipotle has confirmed it is filing a police report on Hernandez’s behalf. Hernandez has also requested increased security at the store to prevent future incidents. The woman has threatened legal action against Chipotle, despite her aggressive actions being widely condemned online.
