White House Bans Religious Imagery From Easter Egg Decorating Contest

The White House is hosting an annual “egg roll” party that includes an Easter egg decorating contest for children of National Guard families — but the Biden administration has decided that the designs submitted to the contest may not include any “religious symbols” or “overtly religious themes,” meaning that the participants celebrating a Christian holiday aren’t allowed to show that in their art.

Easter, the key holiday in the Christian liturgical calendar, is once again being co-opted by the left. While it is supposed to be celebrated in honor of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Biden administration apparently believes that it is just a holiday about bunnies and eggs.

On behalf of First Lady Jill Biden, the White House has announced that it will not accept any designs containing symbolism that is integral to the actual meaning of the holiday.

Included in the list of restrictions is the declaration that the “Submission must not include any questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or partisan political statements.”

There is also not a single mention of the purpose of the Easter holiday in the entire announcement sent by the White House to National Guard families.

“Celebrating Easter is one of the oldest time-honored traditions at the White House,” it stated. “Since 1878, American presidents and their families have celebrated Easter Monday by hosting an ‘egg roll’ party. Held on the South Lawn, it is one of the oldest annual events in White House history. It has changed and evolved through the years and each First Family has put their stamp on the popular event.”

The document went on to explain that America’s Egg Farmers present “an intricately decorated Commemorative Easter Egg to the First Lady of the United States” every year for the last 50 years.

“In 2021, the White House expanded on this longstanding tradition by displaying youth-designed Easter eggs in the White House East Colonnade,” the Biden administration wrote.

The fact that the White House refused to acknowledge the significance of the holiday for Christians, especially as President Joe Biden insists that he is a “devout Catholic,” is especially shocking. If the Biden administration wanted to hold an art contest without religious themes, it would not necessarily be problematic. But to hold that contest in honor of an overtly Christian holiday has left Christians once again feeling denigrated by this administration.

However, according to social media users, the most outrageous part of the Biden administration’s Easter weekend celebration is the fact that the president declared Easter Sunday to be another of the left’s religious holidays celebrating the LGBT community.
