SPLC Doxes Christian Writers In Latest Attack On Free Speech
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a left-wing organization notorious for targeting conservative voices, has doxed writers at Not the Bee, the news arm of the Christian satire site Babylon Bee. Critics argue the SPLC’s actions are unAmerican and designed to silence free speech through intimidation.
According to Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon, the SPLC revealed the identities of anonymous writers, including personal details such as family ties and locations. “This is an effort to make them pay a steep price for speaking freely,” Dillon said, condemning the organization’s tactics.
In its defense, the SPLC claimed the move was to protect vulnerable communities from “hateful content.” The organization accused Not the Bee writers of producing divisive material that dehumanizes transgender individuals, immigrants, and people of color, adding, “This commentary has no place in our society.”
Not the Bee responded by highlighting that the SPLC’s stance amounts to rejecting the values and opinions of millions of Americans. “Are they saying the majority of Americans, who support border laws and oppose gender ideology in schools, have ‘no place in society’?” the site asked in a statement.
The SPLC’s actions appear to contradict core American principles of free expression and civil discourse. By exposing private individuals for their beliefs, the SPLC has positioned itself as an enforcer of ideological conformity, critics argue.
This aggressive targeting of conservative voices raises broader concerns about the chilling effect such tactics could have on free speech, particularly for those who hold views that challenge progressive orthodoxy.
