Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has told CNN and MSNBC that he thinks Democrats have the right to control media houses in the U.S. The Majority Leader said this in response to the alleged fake news published by media houses, particularly Fox news.

When questioned about the legitimacy of government officials interfering with the activities of the media outlets, Schumer demonstrated yet another unconstitutional act. 

“This is telling them, showing them they have hurt our democracy in a way that no other actor other than Donald Trump has done. When it’s that vital, I think we not only have a right to tell Rupert Murdoch and Fox what to do, but an obligation,” Schumer said in his statement.

Schumer used the alleged claim that the U.S. democracy is under attack to justify his position. Also referring to the controversial election that elected President Joe Biden, Schumer claimed Fox News misled the public. While the Democrat’s activities in 2020 are appropriately documented for all to see, the Majority Leader urged people to harass Fox. 

According to a CNBC report, Schumer rallied MSNBC’s “All In With Chris Hayes” viewers to flood the channel with calls that demanded hosts who pushed Trump’s alleged election cheat claim to admit what they did.

“The first thing I would do right now is urge your listeners, and listeners across the board, to just deluge Fox News with, retract, apologize, stop telling these lies. It’s the worst lie that has been told in the history of our democracy, as long as I can tell, because it’s eroding faith in the whole enterprise,” Schumer said.

Democrats may again be guilty of the same crime they alleged the ex-president for. Here, Schumer goes against his oath of office to incite a crowd to threaten the constitutional provision of media freedom. 

This is not the attempt of Biden’s administration’s disregard for institutional norms. Schumer’s reputation for threats and his history of harassing the Supreme Court while he was the Senate’s minority leader proves so. 

Schumer directly threatened SCOTUS Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh while a significant abortion case was being argued at the high court in 2020.

“You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You will not know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions,” Schumer said in a statement Republicans kicked against.
