Schiff Slams DOJ For Taking Too Long To Prosecute Trump

During a Sunday interview, disgraced Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) railed against the justice system for allowing former president and presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump his due process — complaining that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is taking too long to indict and prosecute Trump, as the former president has stalled several of his trials after invoking his right to appeal certain rulings.

In his appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Schiff claimed that his rant was about a desire for justice while at the same time showing that his concerns are more about politics.

The host began the discussion by pointing to Schiff’s disagreement with Attorney General Merrick Garland’s handling of the various Trump investigations.

The Democrat congressman responded by pointing to the left’s favorite lie — that Trump incited an insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021, despite the fact that he was still speaking miles away when the Capitol protests began and telling his supporters to “peacefully and patriotically” make their voices heard.

Schiff claimed that the DOJ “did wait at least a year to look beyond the foot soldiers, that is, those that broke into the Capitol that day and refrained from looking at those who were the inciters of the attack on the Capitol.”

He went on to complain that Trump’s cases could stretch beyond the November election, essentially whining that the DOJ is allowing due process in Trump’s legal cases.

“And yes, I think that delay has contributed to a situation where none of these trials may go forward, although it is still my hope and belief that at least one or two of them might go forward before the election,” Schiff said. “So yes, the Department bears some of that responsibility.”

He then claimed that “when they did bring the indictments, there was still time to bring those cases in a timely way” — even though the government purposely waited to bring these cases until they knew Trump was running for reelection, instead of bringing them forward right after he left office — while also complaining that Trump’s attorneys are now responsible for delays in the proceedings.

However, despite Schiff’s desperate attempt to portray his outrage as a desire for justice, it is clear that this is far from the truth. If the Democrat congressman, who is widely known for lying to the American people on numerous occasions to smear Trump, were truly concerned about truth and justice, he would support the legal system playing out in the manner it was designed to.

Instead, he cares more about Trump’s cases being pushed through before the election — as they are designed to hurt Trump’s chances at reelection or even imprison him to prevent his reelection.

As Red State noted: “He, like his comrades on the left, wishes that one of the indictments would result in a conviction before it is time for Americans to go to the polls.”

“Democrats believe that if Trump is convicted of a crime, it will lessen his chances of defeating President Joe Biden in November,” the outlet added. “Given that each of these indictments is motivated by a desire to influence the outcome of the presidential race, it is easy to see why Schiff and the gang are frustrated.”
