Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Suggests ‘Entire Departments’ At FDA Need To Be Dismantled

After endorsing President-elect Donald Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is making headlines with his bold remarks on reforming the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In a recent interview, Kennedy argued that certain parts of the FDA, particularly the nutrition department, fail to serve public health needs and should be dismantled.

Kennedy voiced his concerns, stating that certain FDA divisions “are not protecting our kids.” He clarified, however, that while he would not eliminate the agency itself, he is focused on rooting out what he describes as “corruption” within it. Kennedy’s statements reflect a broader goal to bring reform rather than complete abolition, saying, “I can get the corruption out of the agencies.”

Kennedy, who dropped out of the 2024 presidential race and backed Trump in August, has since become a topic of speculation regarding a possible position in Trump’s cabinet. When asked about his future role, Kennedy acknowledged he had spoken with Trump and that he is working on a proposal. Although no official role has been confirmed, some suggest Kennedy may be a candidate for Health and Human Services secretary or a position without the need for Senate approval.

Initially, Kennedy challenged President Joe Biden as a Democrat but later switched to an independent campaign. His endorsement of Trump helped rally moderates and independents, strengthening Trump’s coalition and contributing to a decisive victory in the election.

If Kennedy joins the Trump administration, his vision for FDA reform may lead to major shifts in health policy. His focus on restructuring agencies to improve accountability and public health reflects the kind of change Trump’s supporters seek.

Kennedy’s endorsement of Trump and his reform-minded approach suggest potential shake-ups in the health sector. His ideas for change at the FDA may prompt discussions on the future of U.S. health policy as the Trump administration sets its course.
