Massachusetts Court Releases Illegal Immigrant Accused Of Heinous Child Abuse, ICE Makes Arrest
In a shocking development, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have detained an illegal immigrant accused of raping a child in Massachusetts after the state’s court system released him back into the community. Maynor Francisco Hernandez-Rodas, a 38-year-old Guatemalan national, was arrested by ICE on September 20 in Lowell, Massachusetts, after being charged in June with aggravated child rape.
Hernandez-Rodas entered the US illegally and has a criminal record that includes convictions for breach of peace in Connecticut. Despite his history and ICE’s efforts to detain him, Middlesex County Superior Court released him following his arraignment, ignoring an immigration detainer placed by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO).
Patricia Hyde, acting Field Office Director for ERO Boston, expressed outrage, stating, “He represents a significant danger to the children of our community that we will not tolerate.” Hernandez-Rodas had been on ICE’s radar due to his illegal status and his violent criminal charges, yet local authorities failed to keep him in custody.
The release of Hernandez-Rodas has sparked renewed debate over the Biden-Harris administration’s approach to immigration enforcement. Deportations of illegal immigrants with criminal records have fallen by 74% under the administration, raising concerns about the safety of American communities.
