Laken Riley’s Father Urges Virginia To Declare Illegal Alien Invasion

Jason Riley — the father of Laken Riley, who was murdered by an illegal alien in Georgia — has urged the Georgia state Senate to pass legislation declaring the illegal immigration crisis to be an invasion.

In February, 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley was murdered while jogging on the University of Georgia campus by an illegal alien suspect, Jose Ibarra. Her body was discovered on campus with her skull “disfigured,” according to court documents.

Ibarra, an “active member” of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, entered the U.S. illegally in 2022. He was detained by border patrol agents in September 2022, but was “set free while his case was investigated.” Ibarra was also later arrested several times in the past, but never turned over for deportation.

According to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, from NewsNation correspondent Ali Bradley, “DHS sources confirm that Jose Antonio Ibarra was arrested 5 months ago in New York. Records show he was arrested on 9/14/23 in Queens, NY for injury to child less than 17 and no license.”

During a press conference after Ibarra’s arrest, the local police chief said that the 26-year-old illegal alien was being charged with “malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call and concealing the death of another.”

Meanwhile, Laken Riley’s family has spoken out about President Joe Biden’s border crisis and the devastating effects it has had on Americans who become victims of the illegal aliens being allowed into the country, as well as their families.

Speaking before the Georgia State Senate after lawmakers passed a resolution to honor his daughter’s memory, Jason Riley gave an emotional speech — advocating for state lawmakers and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) to address this crisis. He also called for Kemp to declare an invasion of illegal aliens.

“I stand before you, a heartbroken man,” Jason Riley said. “Part of my purpose has been taken. God gave me a beautiful daughter to father, protect, provide for and nurture. A man with an evil heart stole her life. He was in this country and in this state illegally.”

“My vision for every senator in this chamber is that you protect citizens from this illegal invasion,” he continued. “Please recognize over a million illegal aliens are in this state and making families nervous.”

Jason Riley also pointed out that the sanctuary city policies of Athens, Georgia, had “led to the murder of [his] daughter” — arguing that changes needed to be made to prevent these horrific crimes from happening again.

“Hundreds of women and children each month… are being smuggled, coerced, and trafficked in our state. They are victims, just like Laken,” he added.
