House GOP Demands FBI Investigate Liz Cheney For Alleged Witness Tampering Amid New Evidence
Anti-Trump conservative pariah Liz Cheney is under fire after House Republicans uncovered new evidence suggesting she engaged in unethical and potentially illegal conduct during her time as vice chair of the January 6 Committee. The former representative’s name has been passed on for investigation following revelations of alleged witness tampering and other violations of federal law.
A report released Tuesday by Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), chair of the House Administration Oversight Subcommittee, accuses Cheney of secretly communicating with Cassidy Hutchinson, a key committee witness, without the knowledge of Hutchinson’s attorney. Loudermilk’s report states this behavior likely violates 18 U.S.C. 1512, which prohibits tampering with witnesses.

“Evidence obtained by this Subcommittee revealed that former Congresswoman Liz Cheney tampered with at least one witness,” the report claims. “Such behavior is outside the legislative process and not protected by the Speech and Debate clause.”
Cheney, who recently stated she should not face jail time for her actions on the committee, appears to be attempting to preemptively dismiss accusations as scrutiny grows. Critics argue this indicates she is aware of the gravity of the evidence against her and is trying to deflect attention from her alleged misconduct.

The report also alleges that the January 6 Committee withheld or destroyed significant evidence, which could have exonerated President Donald Trump. According to Loudermilk, the committee neglected or deliberately deleted “voluminous records” that were required to be preserved.
Hutchinson’s testimony, widely publicized by the committee, is further discredited in the report. Loudermilk’s findings suggest her most dramatic claims lacked evidence and that the committee knowingly promoted falsehoods.
Since no one is above the law.

In addition, the report raises concerns about possible collusion between Special Counsel Jack Smith and the January 6 Committee. Republicans accuse the panel of coordinating with Smith to aid his prosecution of Trump, reinforcing claims that the committee’s work was politically motivated.
The revelations have intensified calls for accountability, with Republicans demanding a full investigation into Cheney’s actions. Critics say the evidence paints a troubling picture of a lawmaker willing to undermine democratic principles to advance partisan goals. Cheney’s denials and recent statements only heighten suspicion that she is attempting to distance herself from increasingly damning allegations.
For many conservatives, the findings highlight what they see as a pattern of unscrupulous and unAmerican activity by Cheney, whose actions they argue were aimed at undermining Trump and his supporters rather than uncovering the truth.
