FBI Whistleblower Records Reveal Key Role Of Anti-Trump Agent In Trump Probe

Newly released documents from whistleblowers reveal that the federal investigation into President Donald Trump’s alleged election interference was initiated by a known anti-Trump figure inside the FBI. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) made the internal records public, exposing how former FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Timothy Thibault helped build the case that later became Special Counsel Jack Smith’s prosecution.
The case, called “Arctic Frost,” was officially opened by the FBI on April 13, 2022. However, emails and internal records show that Thibault took unauthorized actions to push the investigation forward. He drafted the initial language for what would later become Smith’s elector case and communicated with DOJ officials about including Trump as a criminal subject.
In my opening statement at Kash Patel’s hrg I revealed never b4 seen whistleblower records proving w/o a doubt that anti-Trump FBI agent Tim Thibault launched elector case 2target Trump Perfect example of FBI politicization FBI NEEDS CHANGE Kash Patel is the right person to do it

One of the emails released by Grassley shows Thibault telling a subordinate, “Here is draft opening language we discussed,” attaching the language that would later be used in the case against Trump. In another message, Thibault sought approval from the FBI Deputy Director to move forward with the probe.

Whistleblower records also highlight the involvement of Richard Pilger, an official in the DOJ’s Public Integrity Section. Pilger reviewed and approved the Arctic Frost investigation, allowing it to escalate into a full criminal and grand jury probe. Grassley had previously raised concerns about Pilger’s role in politically sensitive cases, including his involvement in election-related investigations under past administrations.

During the Senate Judiciary Committee’s confirmation hearing for Trump’s FBI Director nominee Kash Patel, Grassley blasted the FBI’s handling of politically charged investigations. He stated that the agency had “broken faith” with the American people by allowing bias to influence its decision-making.
Grassley and Johnson have now called on Jack Smith to preserve all records related to the Trump investigation, arguing that the documents suggest Arctic Frost was built on political motivations rather than legal merit. The senators are demanding full transparency on how Trump was added as a target and who in the DOJ authorized the case’s expansion.
