Court Blocks Biden Administration From Auctioning Border Wall Materials

Attorney General Ken Paxton has successfully blocked the Biden Administration from selling more border wall materials ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. A federal judge ruled on December 27 that the Biden Administration must halt further disposals for the next 30 days.

The hearing was called at Paxton’s request after reports emerged that materials intended for the wall were being auctioned off. The Biden Administration admitted in court that it had engaged in these sales but agreed to cease further activity under the court’s new order.

This decision enforces a May 2024 injunction requiring the administration to use funds allocated for border wall construction. Violations of this ruling, such as selling materials bought with those funds, could lead to legal consequences, including contempt of court.

The court’s order, covered by KVIA, ensures accountability. Texas is entitled to receive documents proving compliance with the original injunction and the new restrictions on material disposal.

Paxton called the ruling a victory for Trump’s border policies, stating, “We’ve prevented Biden from sabotaging border security efforts during his final days in office.” He pledged to continue holding the administration accountable for any attempts to undermine Trump’s agenda.

The case underscores the ongoing clash between federal and state officials over immigration and border security.
