Unauthorized Access Attempt On Biden’s Health Records By Navy Sailor Exposed

A U.S. Navy sailor was caught trying to access President Joe Biden’s health records unlawfully three times in February, according to a Pentagon announcement on Tuesday. The unnamed sailor attempted to view the 81-year-old president’s restricted medical file using the Military Health System’s electronic health record system, MHS Genesis, on February 23, shortly before Biden’s annual physical exam results were released.

Cmdr. Tim Hawkins of the Navy reported that the sailor, based at the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command in Fort Belvoir, Va., conducted the search out of curiosity. A co-worker reported the unauthorized access, indicating a breach of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder, the Pentagon’s press secretary, assured that the accessed record was not Biden’s actual health record. He confirmed that the Secretary of Defense and the White House were notified promptly. “The Secretary [of Defense] was notified in February when the Navy became aware,” Ryder said. “The Navy also notified the White House through channels at the time.”

The Navy Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS) initiated an investigation, which concluded on April 24. This revelation adds to the ongoing debate about Biden’s health and cognitive abilities, especially following his performance in the June 27 debate with Donald Trump.
