Trump Accuses FBI Of Corruption Over Sudden DEI Office Shutdown

President Donald Trump is raising serious concerns over the FBI’s decision to quietly shut down its Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) just before his inauguration. Trump took to Truth Social to blast the agency, claiming the move reeks of corruption.

“We demand that the FBI preserve and retain all records, documents, and information on the now closing DEI Office—Never should have been opened and, if it was, should have closed long ago,” Trump stated. “Why is it that they’re closing one day before the Inauguration of a new Administration? The reason is, CORRUPTION!”

The FBI confirmed through a statement to Fox News that the ODI was officially closed in December 2024. However, the agency provided no explanation for its abrupt decision, leaving critics questioning the motive behind the timing.

Throughout his campaign, Trump pledged to dismantle government programs centered on diversity and inclusion, viewing them as wasteful and harmful to national security. His nominee for FBI director, Kash Patel, has similarly criticized DEI initiatives, suggesting they weaken the agency’s focus on critical law enforcement duties.

The closure follows criticism from lawmakers like Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), who recently warned that the FBI’s focus on DEI efforts could compromise public safety. Blackburn expressed her concerns in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, stating that the bureau was prioritizing political agendas over protecting Americans.

Trump’s call for the preservation of FBI records hints at potential investigations into the agency’s internal operations. His administration is expected to revisit federal policies on diversity programs in multiple agencies.

DEI offices have been facing increased scrutiny across the country, with many universities and government departments scaling back or eliminating these programs entirely.
