Texas AG Ken Paxton Launches Tipline To Safeguard Election Integrity Ahead Of 2024 Vote
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has taken a decisive step to protect the integrity of the 2024 election by launching an illegal voting tipline. This initiative invites Texans with direct knowledge of unlawful voting activities to report their concerns, ensuring that every legal vote is counted fairly.
In a press release, Paxton emphasized the importance of election security, particularly in light of the growing noncitizen population in Texas and alleged partisan efforts to manipulate voter registration and the voting process. The tipline aims to empower citizens and government entities to identify and report illegal activities such as vote harvesting and false claims of U.S. citizenship.
“There is nothing more important than the integrity of our elections. This means protecting every legal vote from unlawful attempts to alter the outcome of our elections,” Paxton stated. He assured Texans that any attempts to commit voter fraud would be met with the full force of the law. “I invite all Texans to report suspected violations at our new tipline. Your political liberties and your representation in our government depend on secure elections.”
The launch of the tipline follows a recent operation by Paxton’s office, which involved executing search warrants related to allegations of election fraud during the 2022 elections. This move underscores Paxton’s ongoing efforts to combat voter fraud and maintain the integrity of the electoral process.
While critics, including Texas state Sen. Roland Gutierrez (D), have accused Paxton of using the tipline to intimidate Latino voters, Paxton’s advisory makes it clear that voters have the right to choose their candidates independently and without outside influence.
With the border crisis leading to an influx of undocumented immigrants, Paxton’s initiative is seen by many as a necessary measure to ensure that the 2024 election remains free from illegal interference, protecting the voices of Texas voters.
