Tennessee Police Search For Suspects Who Used Pythons In Convenience Store Robbery

Four individuals are on the run after allegedly using pythons to intimidate a store clerk and steal CBD oil from a Tennessee convenience store. Authorities in Madison County have released surveillance footage of the unusual crime in hopes of identifying the suspects.

The robbery took place at a Citgo gas station on March 4, when two men and two women entered the store carrying live snakes. According to employee Mayur Raval, the suspects waved the pythons around, frightening those inside.

“One person brought in one snake first, and then after that, he brought in another snake,” Raval said. He noted that one python was white while the other was a mix of brown.

The suspects’ vehicle, a four-door sedan with a trunk secured by bungee cords, was seen pulling up to the front of the store before the theft took place. Raval believes the criminals had a plan in place before entering.

“They pulled their car up to the front of the door,” he said. “I think they planned to successfully come here and rob the store. The snake is a weapon, you know.”

The thieves stole approximately $400 worth of CBD oil before leaving the scene. Madison County authorities are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.

In a strange coincidence, this is not the first case of a snake-related robbery in Tennessee. Last year, a man in Memphis attempted to hold up a gas station with a python but was stopped when the clerk produced a gun.
