Rep. Andy Biggs Introduces ‘KAMALA Act’ To Block Housing Assistance For Illegal Migrants
Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) has introduced the “Keeping Aid for Municipalities and Localities Accountable Act,” or the “KAMALA Act,” which seeks to prevent American taxpayer dollars from funding housing assistance for illegal migrants. Biggs shared the details of his proposed legislation during an appearance on Just the News, No Noise, where he criticized policies that prioritize housing for illegal immigrants over American citizens.
Biggs specifically referenced a recent effort in California where the state legislature passed a bill offering loan assistance to illegal migrants seeking to buy homes. While the bill was vetoed by Gov. Gavin Newsom, Biggs said the proposal was “a slap in the face to hard-working Americans.” He pointed to the strain that the rapid influx of illegal migrants has placed on the housing market, contributing to shortages and driving up costs for American families.
The KAMALA Act would prevent federal funds from being used to support state and local housing assistance programs for illegal migrants, ensuring that taxpayer dollars are not diverted to non-citizens. Biggs emphasized that this legislation is necessary to protect American resources and prioritize citizens who are facing housing challenges.
With several co-sponsors already backing the bill, Biggs expressed optimism that House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) would help move the legislation forward. “We have a home shortage because we have so many illegal aliens in the country that have come in so fast,” Biggs said. “The KAMALA Act will ensure the federal government is not bankrolling these states and localities.”
As debates around immigration and housing continue to intensify, the KAMALA Act is likely to draw significant attention, especially from those concerned about the financial burden placed on American taxpayers.
