Musk Reiterates Call For Fauci Prosecution After Trump Appointment

Tech billionaire Elon Musk, a key advisor to President-elect Donald Trump, has renewed his calls for Dr. Anthony Fauci to face legal accountability. Musk, known for his outspoken criticism of the former chief medical advisor, posted on X, “My pronouns are still prosecute/Fauci,” doubling down on sentiments he first expressed in 2022.

The post was a reply to a comment highlighting Fauci’s financial benefits from his decades-long government career. The user criticized the $15 million spent on Fauci’s security since his retirement, pointing out his $480,654 annual salary and estimated $355,000 yearly pension. Fauci’s net worth is reportedly $11 million.

Musk has long accused Fauci of misleading Congress and funding controversial research linked to the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic. In a previous post, Musk alleged that Fauci “lied to Congress” and supported research that led to millions of deaths—a claim Fauci has repeatedly denied.

During testimony before a House panel in June, Fauci called such accusations “absolutely false and simply preposterous.” He defended his handling of the pandemic and dismissed claims of involvement in a lab leak cover-up.

Musk’s criticism of Fauci aligns with his broader skepticism of pandemic responses. In 2020, Musk called the panic over COVID-19 “dumb” and, after acquiring Twitter in 2022, reversed bans on questioning the virus’ origins. His ongoing stance has amplified debates about Fauci’s legacy and the pandemic’s management.

Musk’s influence in the upcoming Trump administration continues to grow. After donating over $100 million to pro-Trump efforts and leading a voter registration campaign, Musk has pitched plans for a government efficiency commission, which Trump has endorsed. Musk claims he could save $2 trillion from the federal budget and eliminate barriers to fully autonomous electric vehicles.

With Trump’s election and Musk’s increasing political involvement, the billionaire’s calls for accountability are likely to remain a focal point of conservative efforts to address pandemic-era controversies.
