Joint Session To Certify Donald Trump’s Electoral Win Today
Four years after the disputed 2020 election, Congress is set to certify Donald Trump’s 2024 victory in today’s joint session. The once and future president, Donald Trump, will return to the White House after securing a resounding 312-226 Electoral College win.
The certification, which Vice President Kamala Harris is constitutionally required to oversee, will finalize Trump’s return to the presidency. Harris’ role in presiding over her own loss mirrors that of Al Gore in 2000, though today’s proceedings are expected to be far less contentious than the events of January 6, 2021.

Congress will gather Monday under the tightest national security level possible to certify President-elect Donald Trump’s election. https://t.co/QGyigvj4lV

The process begins with the reading of sealed electoral results submitted by each state. Designated tellers from both parties announce the results state by state. Objections to certifications must meet strict criteria, including written submissions supported by one-fifth of members from both chambers. No objections are anticipated this year.

This marks a stark contrast to four years ago, when allegations of fraud and irregularities clouded the 2020 election. Then-Vice President Mike Pence certified Biden’s win, a decision that remains divisive among Trump’s supporters, who believe the process was flawed.

The certification will clear the way for Trump’s inauguration on January 20, where he will officially begin his second term as president. His return represents a significant political comeback, driven by calls for election transparency and accountability.
J6 will go down in history as the day the government staged a riot to cover up the fact that they certified a fraudulent election. . . And framed President Trump. pic.twitter.com/yvbAKpBES3
