Governor To Display MAGA Flag At Mansion For Trump’s Inauguration

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry (R-LA) announced he will fly a Make America Great Again (MAGA) flag at the Louisiana Governor’s Mansion on January 20 in honor of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. Landry shared the announcement Friday on social media, encouraging others to participate in the display of support.

“BREAKING: Governor Landry to fly Make America Great Again flag at Louisiana Governor’s Mansion on Jan. 20 in honor of the Inauguration of President Donald J. Trump,” Landry posted. He invited Louisiana residents to join him by flying MAGA flags at their homes.

Landry’s decision is a bold public show of loyalty to President Trump, signaling the state’s strong alignment with Trump’s policies. His announcement comes as Republican leaders nationwide prepare to celebrate Trump’s return to the presidency.

This move follows House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) decision to raise American flags at full staff at the U.S. Capitol during the inauguration. President Joe Biden had ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff in remembrance of former President Jimmy Carter, but Johnson postponed the directive until January 21.

“On January 20th, the flags at the Capitol will fly at full-staff to celebrate our country coming together behind the inauguration of our 47th President, Donald Trump,” Johnson stated. He assured that flags would be lowered the next day to continue honoring Carter.

Landry’s decision reflects a broader effort among Republican leaders to publicly back Trump. The MAGA flag at the Governor’s Mansion is expected to rally conservative voters and reinforce Louisiana’s support for the incoming administration.

Across Louisiana, Trump supporters are expected to respond to Landry’s call and proudly display their MAGA flags in a united show of support.
