Christmas Palooza Brings Holiday Cheer To Families In Verona
With Christmas just around the corner, a mother in Verona, Virginia, ensuring that children in her community experience the joy of the season through her growing initiative, Christmas Palooza. Robbin Johnson, a stay-at-home mom, has made it her mission to help families who struggle to afford gifts for their children.
“My children have been in need quite a bit,” Johnson shared. “I know how it is, and I just wanted to help others.” Her efforts have expanded over the past two years, and this Christmas, she was able to assist 31 families with the help of her church and community.

The program’s success has inspired many, including Johnson’s daughter, Angel. “She didn’t think it would be this big,” Angel said. “It’s amazing to see how much she’s been able to help people.”
Pastor Melinda Gartzke, who has supported the initiative through their church, emphasized its impact on families in need. “Most of these families were prioritizing basic expenses like rent and gas,” Gartzke explained. “Christmas gifts weren’t even on their radar.”
Community donations and volunteers have been key to Christmas Palooza’s success. The event provided not only presents but also hope to families who faced a difficult holiday season.
Looking ahead, Johnson hopes to expand the initiative, bringing even more joy to children in the years to come. “It feels good to make a difference,” she said.
