Border Patrol Agent Blasts Biden-Harris Administration For ‘Migrant Concierge Service’
A Border Patrol agent has voiced strong criticism of the Biden-Harris administration, accusing it of turning border enforcement into a “migrant concierge service.” This criticism highlights growing frustration among border agents who believe their roles have shifted dramatically under the current administration.
Zachary Apotheker, who joined the Border Patrol in 2020, has expressed his displeasure with the changes in his job duties. According to Apotheker, the focus has moved away from intercepting drug traffickers and apprehending illegal entrants to assisting migrants with their entry and transition into the U.S.
Since President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office, over 8 million migrants have crossed the southern border. This includes members of dangerous groups such as the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. Apotheker’s concerns are heightened by the fact that more than 1.7 million migrants have evaded capture during this period.
In an interview with The New York Post, Apotheker stated, “I don’t want to bring people into the country. That’s not what I signed up to do.” He criticized the current policies for giving migrants access to resources that American citizens cannot access, while also highlighting the criminal activities some migrants have committed.
Apotheker and other sources have reported issues with the documentation of unaccompanied migrant children. Many of these children lack proper documentation and biometric data, making their safe relocation difficult. There is also a significant backlog in the immigration system, with 291,000 migrant children released into the U.S. without court dates and 32,000 missing their scheduled hearings.
Apotheker has indicated he is willing to risk his career to shed light on what he sees as severe mismanagement and potential dangers posed by the current border policies. He warns that the situation could worsen if not addressed promptly.
The White House and Border Patrol have yet to respond to requests for comment on these allegations.
