Biden Administration Accused Of Targeting Conservative Speech
America First Legal (AFL) has revealed documents suggesting the Biden administration attempted to curb conservative voices through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The documents, obtained via legal action, expose the Homeland Intelligence Experts Group’s plans to combat “domestic terrorism,” which included political dissent. AFL asserts the group was partisan, aiming to further the administration’s goals.
Gene Hamilton, AFL’s Executive Director, urged Americans to review these documents, claiming they show government misuse to silence opposition. Hamilton stated, “Now, it is up to Congress to stop the Biden Administration from further using these same actors to advance their radical agenda.”
The Homeland Intelligence Experts Group, advised by John Brennan and James Clapper, was criticized for its biased approach. Formed in September 2023, the group was disbanded in May after AFL’s legal intervention. AFL has been publishing these documents as part of its “#DeepStateDiaries” series, highlighting plans to influence public opinion through various channels, including local authorities and popular podcasters.
Brennan and Clapper, who led the advisory body, were among those who signed a 2020 letter suggesting that data from Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation. This information has since been confirmed by multiple sources.
The controversy underscores the ongoing debate over free speech and government intervention, with AFL calling for legislative action to prevent future misuse of power.
